What is Paradise on Purpose?

Paradise on Purpose is a grassroots publication, created By Studio Solstice x Locale, about possibility, creativity, community and attuning to the natural rhythms of our environments, both inner and outer, in a modern world. This magazine is a collective experiment on living in the place where blissed-out holiday headspace meets a life of meaning and motivation.

Born from Yunbenun (Magnetic Island) in North Queensland, an island in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef with idyllic charm and connection to nature, in Paradise on Purpose, we share stories, conversations and creative work. All from the many diverse and inspiring humans that call the island home or, for a moment in time, were touched by our sandy, sunsoaked little corner of the world.

In our first edition, we explore the theme of ‘Direction’. Here on the island, and particularly within Jungle Club, we are surrounded by a community of people who have interesting stories and have travelled along unconventional life paths to land here on our tropical paradise. With Paradise on Purpose, we hope to tell these stories, as well as share creative work that explores the theme of ‘Direction’.
